ABOUT US

Emma is a chartered landscape architect specialising in garden design and landscape and visual impact assessment.

Garden Design and Advice

My plant knowledge and design work is informed by:

  • working with Esmond Murray Architects on many private garden designs
  • a year working as a WRAGS trainee in a NGS garden in Bath
  • RHS Diploma in Horticulture (level 3)
  • being taught planting design by Nick Robinson
  • a grounding in ecology and soil from an Environmental Science degree at the University of Southampton

Landscape Assessment and Planning support

My approach is guided by:

  • my experience whilst working for Pegasus Planning Group and Nicholas Pearson Associates
  • studying Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire
  • completing a MSc thesis on tourism’s impact on the environment
  • working for the Head of Environment at British Airways who taught me to be open and scientific about environmental impacts
  • growing up near Stoke-on-Trent and working in Liverpool and Salford urban regeneration areas in the 1980s
